About Tyler

Hi! My name is Tyler. I'm a husband and father. Running has absolutely changed my life. During COVID I picked up running and soon after decided I wanted to run a marathon. I've now run 3 marathons and currently training for the Chicago marathon, which with be my second major that I've completed.

That first year of running I made plenty of mistakes, not just how I ran, but how I managed my training. I learned from those mistakes, and now pass what I've learned from past mistakes on to my athletes to help them avoid making the same mistakes I did.

Coaching Philosophy

I wholeheartedly believe that if you ensure that your family and job responsibilities are in order, you can train at an extremely high level. What that looks like may be different for each athlete.

For me personally, I run early in the morning to make sure I'm home by the time my daughter gets up so I can get her ready for school. This gives me the peace of mind knowing that I can fully focus on my training.

I'm a firm believer in easy days easy, and hard days hard. Meaning, I expect all of my athletes to run their easy day runs at a slow conversational pace. It's not the time to go throw down a fast time on a Strava segment. Hard days are supposed to tax you, and I coach my athletes to treat them as race days. These days are when it's time to perform.

Finally, I believe there are no short cuts in running. The only way to progress is through consistently showing up every day.
