I started running 20 years ago when I was 30 and ultra was still a sport for a small group of people and no one really knew how to train for it. At first, I tried many methods, including typical marathon training, marching, cycling, gym, cross fit, high volume, high intensity, ski touring, etc. n the meantime, I followed the latest research, methods and reports from the ultra circle, basically from the moment when the methodology of trail and ultra training began to emerge. Finally, I completed UESCA course and still keep a close eye on the news, publications and latest research.
My training philosophy is based on simplicity, consistency and solid foundations. Building fitness requires time, patience and discipline, not necessarily flashy sessions, otherworldly VO2max or the latest gadgets. I believe that with solid work everyone can achieve realistically set goals.
