About Nick

I’m Nick Hancock, a UK Athletics Licensed and UESCA-certified ultrarunning coach. I’ve raced everything from 5k to 100 miles, with half marathon, marathon, and ultra being my sweet spot. As a husband and dad of two, I know first-hand the challenge of fitting training around life. That’s why my coaching focuses on getting results for busy athletes without burning them out. I’ve helped athletes worldwide hit PBs, qualify for Boston, and complete bucket-list ultras through a blend of science-backed methods, strength training, and clear communication

Coaching Philosophy

My philosophy is simple: get fast, get strong, run long. I believe strength training is non-negotiable, easy runs should truly be easy, and two hard days should never be stacked back-to-back. I focus on purposeful, personalised training that builds durability, develops speed, and respects each athlete’s life outside running. Communication is my coaching superpower — weekly feedback, open dialogue, and constant adjustment ensure the plan fits the person, not the other way round. Science guides my programming, but the art of coaching — listening, adapting, and supporting — is what drives results
