Growing up I was a multi-sport athlete, but my true passion was running. I began racing in elementary and high school in the 800m-3000m before joining the U. of Western Ontario’s cross country team. After my undergraduate degrees, I pursued further education at the U. of British Columbia and became a registered Physiotherapist, all while continuing to train and race. I’ve competed in numerous full and half marathons across Canada and the USA, including the Boston Marathon (2:40 PB there). I have personal bests of 2:34 in the marathon, 1:42 in the 30k, and 15:49 in the 5k.
I believe running is an important part, but not the only part, of someone’s life. As such, to put you in a position to be the best runner possible, I need to understand you as a person, your strength/weaknesses, life commitments, and goals as a runner. In order to reach your potential, I believe consistency is the most important factor. By staying healthy, stacking good workouts on top of each other, week after week, month after month, you put yourself in the best spot to achieve your running goals.
My background as a registered physiotherapist and certified UESCA running coach puts me in a unique position to not only create an individualized program to you, but also assist in providing strategies to help you minimize your risk of injury. This is the key to both short- and long-term success and enjoyment as a runner.
