I bring a unique blend of strength and endurance to ultrarunning coaching. After years of competing in collegiate-level sprinting, I shifted my focus to long distances, completing multiple ultras from 50K to 100 miles. Living in Japan, I race in ekidens and coach youth athletes in the event locally and online to athletes in several different countries. I provide tailored training plans and consultations for runners looking to take on ultras in Japan, helping athletes of all backgrounds optimize their training, strategy, and race execution.
Success in ultrarunning comes from a structured, progressive approach built on fundamentals. My coaching prioritizes the right training at the right time—developing foundational endurance before layering in intensity, specificity, and race-day readiness. Every plan is built around long-term development, balancing volume, intensity, and recovery to maximize performance while minimizing injury risk.
Strength training is a key pillar, enhancing durability, efficiency, and resilience against fatigue. I integrate it seamlessly into training to support running performance, not detract from it. My coaching is data-driven yet adaptable, ensuring each athlete reaches their potential while maintaining longevity in the sport.
