My journey began in the US Marine Corps, where witnessing a fellow Marine complete the LA Marathon sparked a transformation from viewing running as something that I occasionally did to making it an integral part of my typical day, all while raising a family and managing a career. As a student of the sport, I've kept apprised of the various endurance training philosophies over the years. This included maintaining RRCA Level 1 coaching certification since 2010 and later earning my UESECA Ultramarathon coaching certificate in order to focus on the unique characteristics of ultramarathons.
My coaching philosophy is rooted in the understanding that successful race experience requires more than physical training. Each runner embodies different characteristics (realized or unknown) that influence their strengths, motivations, and challenges in endurance sports. By strategically identifying and developing these core areas, I create training plans that are both challenging and achievable. I intend to focus my coaching primarily on semi-experienced runners who have completed a running competition and are looking to tackle longer distances. My ideal clients are motivated individuals who desire personalized guidance to reach the next level in their endurance journey.
