I was born and raised in the outdoors of Colorado. This environment shaped my upbringing into a lover of moving in the mountains. I have always had great access to trails, and after running in college, I have jumped at the chance to immerse myself in the trail running community. I prefer to focus on the shorter distances for now, but as time makes its mark on me, my body favors the longer distances. I also love to ride my mountain and gravel bike, and have plans to explore my home and abroad more by human power.
I believe that every athlete is unique and responds differently to certain types of training. Every good runner needs a strong foundation to work from, and results won't come unless the proper foundation is laid. Strength training is part of a good foundation and will help prevent injuries. Nutrition is a key aspect to staying healthy and strong when the stresses of training and life come crashing in. Mental training is most important in allowing you to get out of your own way. Finally, I believe in a holistic approach to training, emphasizing that you are a human and not a machine. Life comes first.
