About Bethany

I hold a BS and BA in Exercise Science and Spanish from USD, a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, and am an Orthopedic Certified Specialist after completing my residency at MHealth Fairview in MN. I just started my own Physical Therapy and run coaching business called Tempo Physical Therapy & Running Performance! Outside of my practice, I enjoy running, spending time with family and friends, hiking, traveling, live music, and being with community.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe that run coaching should take and individualized and collaborative approach. The runner knows their body and schedule best, and my job is to work with them to healthily achieve their goals. Communication is key to understanding expectations from both the athlete and coaching perspective, and when done well, can produce a positive and successful running and/or racing experience! I have had my share of injuries in the past and have learned through training and education that there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to running. My individualized, goal-oriented approach to coaching and rehabilitation emphasizes injury risk reduction through movement optimization and effective loading with an aim to help athletes reach not only the finish line, but also future starting lines, healthy and happy.
