About Jodi

Hi! I’m Jodi (Brown) and I’m a psychological therapist, run coach and personal trainer. I’m also Mum to two teenagers and a Rommie rescue dog. I’m an avid trail runner, a community run leader, a lover of musical theatre, live music and adventure.

If you’d told me (30 years ago), that I’d be sat here writing this bio from the perspective of a run coach, I’d have laughed you out the room. The psychotherapist in me isn’t so much of a surprise: I’ve always loved working with people, understanding what makes them tick and wanting to help them get the best out of life. Coaching Philosophy

At Side by Side Wellbeing, my run mindset coaching blends psychological expertise with a deep understanding of what it means to be a runner. I help athletes work through mental blocks like self-doubt, anxiety, and comparison, using practical, evidence-based strategies drawn from approaches like CBT and ACT. The goal is not just performance, but also enjoyment, confidence, and long-term mental well-being.

This isn’t just theory — I’ve been there too. As a developing runner myself, I understand the highs, lows, and everything in between. The mindset tools I share aren’t just clinical; they’re tried and tested in real miles, on real trails, through tough races and everyday training. That lived experience shapes my approach: supportive, realistic, and focused on what actually works.
