I am Irene, I am 35 years old, born in Spain but lived in the UK for the last 10 years (currently in beautiful Edinburgh).
I began my running journey in 2017. I have competed in multiple types of events from short/long distances (up to 100K), on road/trail, and from less to highly competitive races. I have also a great understanding of the human body and physiology being a Dr in Biomedicine and Neurobiology and an MSc student in sports science and medicine. Then, I know how to adapt the training according to specific athletes' needs to make sure they succeed.
My coaching philosophy is training smart, potentiating the athlete's capacities while preventing injury as much as possible. I prepare my athletes to become stronger but never forget about psychological aspects, so I make sure they gain confidence and have the appropriate mindset for training and racing. I develop varied training that helps athletes improve at different stages of their training. I'm all ears! love feedback from my athletes to work with them toward improvement, while having lots of fun!
