I believe in listening to your body and the tried and true principles of building a solid aerobic base. This is accomplished with low effort (RPE 4 or 5 out of 10) training for a bulk of your training, with one or two hard days a week. I also focus on race specific training as you get closer to your race to ensure that you are as prepared as possible.
Strength training and recovery are keys to establishing long term success in this sport.
