About Shannon

I’m a mom, a teacher, and an ultrarunner. I started running later in life as a way to be acctive, but I quickly fell in love with the sport. After running my first half marathon in 2011, I jumped into every local 5k, 10k, or half I could find. In 2018, I made my way to the marathon and that is where my life truly changed. I've ran a marathon every year since then, and I’ve since delved into the wild world of ultrarunning, and have run every distance from a 50k to a 100 miler. Ultras have become my true passion and I love everything about the sport: learning, running, and coaching.

Coaching Philosophy

Why? What's the purpose? Those are the driving questions I use in my coaching.

Why do you want to be an endurance runner (finding your purpose)?
Why would you like a coach (determining my purpose)?
Why are we setting up training this way/doing these workouts/focusing on these adaptations (establishing the purpose)?

My passion is to help you find the answers to those whys and deepen that purpose. From personal experience I know that running should fit into your life, instead of your life revolving around running.

Training should not only add miles to your life, but meaning. We'll work to find the balance between your training, career, family, no matter what season of life you are currently moving through. I'll work with you to develop a love of the process and a focus not only on attaining challenging goals, but also on sustaining a lifelong running habit.
