Since the 1990s, I have worked with masters swimmers, high school cross country and track runners, and runners and triathletes pursuing self-defined challenges, whether those involve races like ultra-marathons or other adventures.
As a masters runner in my early 40s, I won a series title in the XTERRA SoCal Trail Series. In my 20s as a USAT All-American triathlete, I competed in the ITU World Triathlon Championships, the ITU World Duathlon Championships, and the Ironman World Championships.
I enjoy passing on the knowledge and experience I’ve gained to both new and experienced athletes.
I view endurance sports as a vehicle for discovery and personal growth and I enjoy working with ultra-runners and mountain endurance athletes pursuing challenges that resonate with your own interests.
The coaching process starts with where you’re currently at to devise a training program with both your background and end goals in mind. As a coach, my role is to help you train with a purpose, putting together a series of workouts on a weekly basis that fit into your overall progression toward your goals.
Along the way, I look to develop a working partnership with you so we can make adjustments and deal with life’s surprises in a way that helps set you up for success. Tracking your training and subjective comments in TrainingPeaks, along with frequent communication, are all key to developing that partnership as we implement your training program.
