I live in Minneapolis with my wife and two daughters, both of whom are cross country runners and Nordic skiers. Since returning to running, I've raced all the distances from the 25k to the 100-mile. I much prefer the trails, but I also love speed work. I'm also a writer, and have worked for Runner's World, Outside, Ultrarunning, Men's Health and other publications. In addition to running, I also bike, ski and do some canoe racing.
Whether you want to run with others or run against yourself, we’re all made to be runners. Injuries are obstacles to be overcome. Goals give life order and meaning, and I want to help you reach yours. I'll help you be the best runner you can, and to find inspiration in those who’ve run before you. I believe that the body is more than just a machine, and that your mind is as important as your muscles. I have always felt, deep down, that running is the purest sport.
