About Jiong How

I attribute my explorations and life mostly to serendipity, where countless experiences of the past and the encounters of the present inspire me to become who I am. Today, my personal practice and professional capacities continue to be driven by a sense of curiosity about mountain environments. Meaningful experiences, instead of accomplishments and failures, characterizes the motivation behind my pursuits over the last decade, when I learned what it takes to truly be a student of the world, and a teacher/coach with a desire to share that knowledge on high performance running and triathlon.

Coaching Philosophy

I design holistic training programs to prepare athletes for the rigors of triathlon and mountain racing. My goal is to unleash your potential and build confidence in mountain environments. Every individual is different, likewise, every program is fully customized to accommodate your lifestyle and address personal goals. This program is reviewed weekly based on your ability to complete the sessions and your feedback on the training experience. Adjustments will be introduced to fine-tune certain abilities and address weaknesses. The monthly program will be designed to fit into the long range plan towards developing you into a more complete and competent athlete. I welcome committed athletes to work together, especially those with an interest in optimizing performance over medium-distance ultrarunning and mountain racing events.
