About Keenan

My passion for running started in high school on the cross country team. I suffered from a spine condition that forced me to wear a back brace and running was one of the few sports that I was allowed to participate in. I went on to run a couple years at the community college level where I learned to train smarter, not harder. Eventually, after running a trail marathon in 2015, I developed an interest in running longer distances. Running is a pillar of my lifestyle that strengthens my mind/body connection. I view running as a total fitness program that can integrate all aspects of life.

Coaching Philosophy

People are busier than ever these days. As a middle school teacher, after working, grading, lesson planning, running errands, keeping the house in (relative) order, spending time with family, and everything in between, sometimes there is little time left over. Some runners have the misconception that you must train hard almost everyday of the week if you want to see results. This could not be further from the truth. Sometimes less is more. My programs are specialized for people with busy schedules who have difficulty finding time to dedicate to their health and fitness. My focus is on beginner to intermediate runners whose primary goals are building and maintaining physical and mental wellness, but who also need more structure and guidance and hold themselves accountable and build consistency.
