About Rikki

I have been running for over 12 years, competing on the roads and trails in distances from 5k up to 100 miles plus I love both trail and road running and have a deep passion for all aspects of the sport.

I started coaching in 2021, shortly after opening a running-speciality store on the island of Jersey. I hold coaching certifications in road and ultrarunning from UK Athletics and UESCA. I am also a qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer.

Being a student of the sport and an athlete, I practice what I preach and am out there in the trenches with my athletes.

Coaching Philosophy

We all have unique lives, genetics, responsibilities, training histories, and goals. Therefore how we should train in order to achieve our objectives needs to be bespoke and individualised. Therefore, I don't offer generic, stock training plans because I don't believe that they work effectively.

I believe that the greatest value of having a coach, aside from the creation of an individualised training plan, is the constant communication it affords. In a world of AI-powered coaching there is still no substitute for the human coach-athlete relationship. Having someone continuously monitoring your training and feedback to provide real-time feedback and guidance is invaluable.

Real fitness gains come over multiple training cycles and many years of consistent work so patience, trust in the process and appropriate increases in training load are key to long-term development within the sport.
