When I was 14, I joined the cross-country team as a high school freshman, mostly because it was the only sports team that didn't make any cuts. Although I was always at the back of the pack for every race, I learned quickly how much hard work and dedication can pay off in running. Now, I've run several marathons and half-marathons, and I love being able to interact with other runners and help them achieve their running-related goals. Outside of running, I work as a cancer biologist, I'm an avid reader of sci-fi and fantasy novels, and I love getting outside as much as I can!
My coaching philosophy rests on three key aspects: science, individuality, and joy! I believe that the most effective training has roots in science-based principles. However, not every athlete is the same, and so those principles should be tailored to the realities of your life. There's no one-size-fits-all approach and every athlete deserves a training plan that can change and evolve with them. My goal is to help runners grow faster, stronger, and more resilient while maintaining balance and avoiding stagnancy. Doing anything hard means embracing the process and taking the good days with the bad days. My job as your coach is to help guide you through that with structure, support, and perspective so you can keep moving towards your goals while keeping your love and joy for running alive for years to come.
