My name is Karin, and in many circles, I'm known as Happy Mama. I am known for using quotes to motivate and inspire others. You will rarely see me without my braids and a visor. I'm 48 years old and a mama of 2 (ages 10 and 7). In addition to running I also train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
I have been running my entire life, and coaching unofficially along the way. I became a certified coach in 2020. I have coached all levels of adult runners in distances from 5km through ultramarathon.
I consider my coaching style to be fluid -- I work with each athlete as an individual. My job as a coach is to coach the INDIVIDUAL. I do not make one training plan that applies to all my athletes. I develop each training plan according to each individual person, their history, their needs, their goals. I adjust it as they go, based on each person's adaptation to training and their life schedule. My holistic focus encompasses training, strength & mobility development, prehab routines, nutrition, mindset, strategy and racing. My coaching philosophy is to have fun, work hard, and achieve balance.
