About Megan

I have been a distance runner for more than forty years, competing in numerous long-distance events including the Boston Marathon and a 50-mile ultramarathon. More than a decade ago, I transitioned into coaching, working with middle school and high school runners before expanding to virtual and in-person coaching for adults through my coaching and sports nutrition practice, MeganSportsRD, LLC. In addition to distance running and strength training, I enjoy hiking with my husband and spending time with my family.

Coaching Philosophy

My coaching philosophy is centered on the belief that long-term success in distance running is built through consistency, individualized training, and evidence-based sports nutrition. I focus on helping athletes develop sustainable habits that support performance, health, and longevity in the sport rather than quick fixes, or short-term gains. Training plans are tailored to the athlete’s experience, goals, lifestyle, and injury history, while nutrition strategies are practical, flexible, and designed to fuel training, recovery, and daily life. I emphasize education and self-awareness so athletes understand the “why” behind their training and fueling choices, empowering them to make confident decisions on race day and beyond. Above all, my goal is to help runners become stronger, healthier, and more resilient athletes who enjoy the process and stay in the sport for the long run.
