I graduated from Indiana University with an MS in Kinesiology and continue to be a student of endurance sports. A mid-pack athlete until my early 30s, I got curious about my abilities. Training hard, setting higher expectations, and working on my mental game resulted in a PR 2:48 marathon at Grandma's Marathon in 2015 and qualifying as a pro triathlete in 2019. In addition to being a mom to my preschool-aged daughter, I now focus on trail and ultra running. My background as a recreational-turned-competitive athlete shapes my work as a massage therapist and coach.
A training plan needs to work within the context of an athlete's life. I love helping athletes reach ambitious, meaningful goals, and one of my superpowers as a coach is working collaboratively to build a program that is simultaneously effective and sustainable. I want to know what work travel, family events, or vacations an athlete has so we can work around them, not force unreasonable amounts of training into an already full life. I believe in the importance of realistic goal setting and excel at helping athletes differentiate what is attainable and what isn't attainable… yet. I believe in getting and staying healthy, and my years as an athlete and background as a licensed massage therapist gives me a unique perspective on injury prevention, managing injury, and return to training after time off.
