About Matt

Running has become one of the greatest teachers in my life. It has taught me patience and the value of consistent effort over time. But unlike many coaches, I didn't grow up running. I didn't discover the sport until my 30s, and when I started, I was simply trying to figure it out like everyone else. I've completed marathons and numerous races at shorter distances. But that came with frustrating setbacks and plenty of mistakes. I've even recorded a DNF in a 5K. They taught me that every runner's journey is different and that progress is rarely a straight line.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe science gives us the foundation. It tells us how the body adapts, recovers, and becomes stronger. But beyond those principles, there is no single perfect way to train. Every runner has different goals, different life circumstances, different strengths, and different motivations. Great coaching isn't about forcing every athlete into the same mold—it's about helping each runner discover what works best for them.
Whether you're training for your first 5K, chasing a marathon personal best, or simply trying to become a stronger, healthier runner, my goal is to help you train with confidence and purpose. Together, we'll use proven training methods, adapt them to your unique situation, and build a sustainable approach that fits your life.
Because the best training plan isn't the one that's perfect on paper—it's the one that helps you become the runner you want to be.
Run your own way.
