About Andy

With over 15 years of experience racing ultradistance events across the UK, US, and Europe—including the Western States 100 and UTMB 100-mile Championships in Chamonix—I bring both scientific knowledge and hard-earned practical expertise. Alongside ultrarunning, my background in running, cycling, Nordic skiing, and mountain-based activities gives me a well-rounded perspective on endurance and performance. I am also a father and husband who understands how to balance training for ambitious goals with the demands of work and family life.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe that the journey to your goal event should be just as rewarding as crossing the finish line. My mission is to help you cultivate a sustainable love for running, optimising your training to fit seamlessly into a busy life, all backed by a partnership built on open communication. I will build your training around your busiest days and pivot whenever life gets unpredictable. As your coach, I am a supportive partner who understands your "why" and is dedicated to protecting your joy for the sport.

Outside of my UESCA certification I have also studied Scott Johnston and David Roche's training methodologies, further strengthening my approach to endurance training. Beyond coaching theory, I have been a long-time follower of Gary Ward’s Anatomy in Motion (AiM) using it to restore posture in conjunction with MotionMetrix 3D software for improving economic running technique.
