I’ve been an endurance runner since 2008 and have completed 14 marathons, 190 half marathons, 2 ultramarathons, a triathlon and a figure competition. A certified coach since 2013: RRCA Level 2 Coach, UESCA Certified Endurance Sports Nutrition Coach and National Coach for Black Girls RUN!. I also pace races and am a Game Changer Mentor for new coaches. As an athlete in menopause, I’m passionate about helping people train smart, prevent injury, fuel well and achieve their goals at every age. I live in Tampa with my husband of 35 years and we love traveling for our runs.
My coaching philosophy is centered on meeting every athlete where they are and providing the individual attention they need to succeed. I believe training should be challenging, realistic and adaptable to each person’s goals, experience, lifestyle and stage of life. I emphasize consistency, injury prevention, strength, recovery and proper nutrition while helping athletes understand the purpose behind their training. I fully support the run/walk method and believe there is no single “right” way to be a runner. As an endurance athlete in menopause, I also understand the importance of adjusting training as the body changes. My goal is to help athletes become stronger, more confident and knowledgeable so they can enjoy running and continue reaching meaningful goals for years to come.
