About Kyle

I'm the founder and head coach of White Pine Athletics, where I work with endurance athletes at every level. My background spans performance testing of Olympic-level athletes, coaching elite cyclists to the world championship level, and working with world championship level triathletes. I coach runners from the 5k up through 100-mile ultras, plus hybrid endurance athletes tackling events like the Mid South Double, a 50k run into a 100-mile gravel ride. Every plan I build starts with your physiology, not a generic template.

Coaching Philosophy

Ultradistance racing isn't decided by fitness alone. It's decided by durability, whether you can keep producing force after 20+ hours of fatigue. It's decided by nutrition, whether you can keep absorbing fuel once your gut wants to shut down. And it's decided by cognitive fatigue, whether you can still make good decisions about pace and safety late in a race. Most training plans don't address this, since they're built around mileage and pace zones instead of the physiology that breaks down late. My approach is different. I use physiological testing and a science-based, athlete-first approach to understand how your body produces and uses energy, then build training around durability, fueling, and fatigue resistance, not just fitness. Expect data-informed pacing and fueling strategy, honest feedback grounded in your numbers, and training built to hold up when the race gets hard.
