About Daniel

I’ve been a trail runner for over 10 years, progressing from my first 11K trail race in the mountains of Costa Rica to marathons, stage races and 100-mile ultramarathons. My background as an engineer naturally led me to study the data, physiology and methodology behind endurance performance. That journey inspired me to become a coach and create PACE LAB, where today I work with athletes pursuing goals from road races and marathons to trail races and ultramarathons.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe effective coaching starts with understanding the individual behind the data. Every athlete has a different history, physiology, lifestyle, availability and reason for pursuing a goal, so no two training programs should look exactly the same.
My approach combines evidence-based training, objective data and continuous athlete feedback to assess, build and adapt the training process. I use metrics to inform decisions—not to replace communication or the athlete’s own perception.
At PACE LAB, we don’t believe in generic plans. Whether the goal is a road marathon, a trail race or an ultramarathon, we train with purpose and prepare specifically for its demands. We measure what matters, adapt when needed and turn preparation into performance.
