I have been a runner since my early teens and from early on I realised that I enjoy the trail far more than road running.
I enjoy the pace of trail running and also the ability to stop and take in the views and generally enjoy the environment that I am running in. I have completed lots of 10k races, Half marathons, Marathons and ultramarathons. I really enjoy the ultra distances and I'm currently training for my first 100 mile race.
I believe that forming a strong relationship with my athletes is key to success. It's important to find out early on if we are a good fit for each other. Once that is established we can get an in depth and ongoing discussion going with regards to existing goals, future aspirations, any barriers to overcome, fitness levels etc.
I am a family man with two children so I know that "life happens" sometimes and plans need to be flexible and dynamic to reflect that. A strong two way communication channel is important here so that we can make changes in real time and overcome any problems that might arise.
The most important thing for me is to be part of my athlete's journey to achieving whatever goals they have. and maybe inspiring new ones!
