I graduated from Willamette University and played collegiate volleyball and softball. I started running in my early 20s to stay in shape and really found enjoy and fulfillment from it. after college, I found that I really missed competing in sport and started running more seriously. Over the years I have become more competitive and am currently running as a master elite in many major marathons. I have a personal best of 2:51 which I ran as a master. I have twin daughters that are eight years old and I hope to instill in them the positive benefits of setting goals and pushing yourself.
I believe in the philosophy of more is not better and balance is key to staying running injury free, with my expertise in strength training, I educate my distance runners about beneficial strength and stability exercises based on their current goals, strengths, and weaknesses and weekly mileage. I believe no one should set limits for themselves, and that our mind is key and our achievements, I believe in a positive philosophy and setting reasonable but challenging goals.
