Coach Profile
- Certified UESCA Running Coach
- Running (marathon or shorter)
- Beginner
I started running at the age of 15 in Northern Minnesota. As a teenager, I felt the pressure to fit in and was constantly worried about my body image. I started running to stay in shape and frankly because I did not like the sports that involved physical contact, balls or teams. I joined the Cross Country team during my Sophomore year of high school and fell in LOVE with the sport. I was never fast or really wanted to win, but I chose to run to feel that sense of peace, those natural endorphins and hear my feet hit the ground with every step. Running is everything to me.
My coaching philosophy is to develop consistent running patterns to help achieve a goal. This goal could be from training for a 5k or running a marathon or even just running to feel good both mentally and physically. I want to be there to help execute and develop a training plan for accomplishing any running related goal.
It does not matter how fast you run. The most important thing is that you show up and do it. Consistency is key and I want to help people develop a passion for running. My running mantra has always been "One Mile is Better Than No Mile". That mile could be a 15 minute mile or a 6 minute mile. The distance it still the same no matter how fast you run. The most important thing is that you are running and that is better than nothing.
