I have been a runner for over 40 years and have run everything from a 5k road race to a 100-mile ultramarathon. Running has taken me all over the country. My biggest challenge was completing the Leadville Marathon.
Since becoming a UESCA certified coach, I’ve taken the scientific research to develop a truly individualized plan that has propelled my running to heights I’ve never experienced before. I’m more rested and better prepared to attack each workout.
As a former elementary principal, becoming a running coach aligns seamlessly with my former role as instructional leader.
I’m a low-key individual who gets really psyched about running. My motto “Relentless Forward Progress” comes from the book with the same title by Bryon Powell. It was the first book I read when I began trail running.
I’ve found that this phrase can be applied to everything in life. We all face our own obstacles, and we need to find a way to continue moving forward, regardless of the challenge or challenges we face. That’s how I lead my school and that’s how I will serve as your run coach. We will meet each challenge head-on and develop a plan to work through them.
