I have been a runner for nearly 30 years, beginning as a track and field athlete then moving into endurance running. I am fascinated with the science behind physical activity and overall health/wellbeing. In fact, I earned my PhD in Epidemiology with a dissertation focused on physical activity in relation to DNA damage/repair, cancer prevention, and quality of life. After 15 years of a "desk job", I am excited to now also be serving runners as a UESCA certified running coach. When I'm not running or coaching, you can find me hanging out with my husband and two active young boys or traveling.
As a running coach, my philosophy centers on helping athletes unlock their full potential and achieve their personal best in running. I am passionate about science-based run coaching focused on the whole person. Here are the key principles I follow:
Personalization: Tailoring training to each runner's unique goals and abilities.
Goal-Driven Approach: Setting clear, achievable objectives for progress and self-improvement.
Consistency & Patience: Emphasizing steady growth through regular training and resilience.
Holistic Wellness: Promoting health, wellbeing, nutrition, rest, mental toughness, and self-discovery.
Effective Communication: Building trust and understanding through open and honest dialogue.
Education & Empowerment: Equipping athletes with knowledge for informed decision-making.
Adaptability: Adjusting training while maintaining long-term objectives.
Let's do this!
