My name is Austin Newblom. I never imagined running would define me—I despised it growing up. But a 2015 motorcycle crash that shattered my leg and arm changed everything. As a former wildland firefighter I discovered my true passion in ultrarunning, pushing past limits in races like Cocodona 250 and Coldwater Rumble 100M. I even met my wife at Greenhorn Ranch 50K. After over a decade fighting wildfires, I founded 3000 Feet Coaching in McKinleyville, California, where I live with my wife, do, and cat - my biggest supporters.
I blend real-world experience with science-backed strategies in endurance, nutrition, and strength. Whether you’re a beginner eyeing your first race or a veteran chasing a PR, I craft plans to fit your goals and lifestyle. My coaching is patient, focused, and steady, rooted in the resilience I’ve lived—becoming a smokejumper taught me how to rise from ashes. My philosophy as a coach is simple. When you combine dedication, determination and will with properly programmed training and recovery for long periods of time, you will far surpass your perceived limits. I offer military and first responder discounts and a free consult to start your journey. Let’s unlock your potential together!
