About Ron

My 15+ year practice involves group coaching and 1-1 consulting. I've put athletes from zero to a sub- 3:30 marathon level in international events, and train 5&10K specialists. I offer remote custom training programming through Final Surge, basic and advanced gait analysis in person, and group training during the weekends. I spent a decade in the USA picking up bicycling and bike racing at a Cat 3 level and now enjoy teaching foundational cycling. I have written many articles about cycling and running, which you will find at www.georgeron.com.

Coaching Philosophy

Aerobic conditioning is the foundation for all aerobic sports whether in cycling or running.

I believe in long term, systematic training to bring athletes from point A to point B in their fitness levels.

I believe in both evidence based and experiential coaching through staying on top of the latest in research through Pubmed, Researchgate and Twitter.

I follow a strict healthy intelligent (HIT) coaching practice centered around annual health monitoring, periodic performance checks, critical power/critical pace paradigm but most importantly effort based training, I care about the response to the training from my athletes, not simply looking at whether they did the training or not.

I have a lot of recipes for periodization from personal practice on clients who have used my services and knowledge to prepare for short and long distance races, from 400mts to the marathon
