About Ryan

I started running in 2015 after finding myself in an unhealthy situation. My father died when I was very young, he had diabetes and heart disease. I saw myself going down the same path so I started walking a lot. Eventually friends challenged me to run a local 15k, and then I was challenged again to run a half marathon. Since 2016 I have run over 100 races, distances ranging from 1 mile to full marathons. Of those races I have run over 50 half marathons and 8 marathons across the world, including the 6 original World Majors Marathons.

Coaching Philosophy

Every athlete is different, and thus their coaching should be treated as such. I work to get to know my athletes' strengths, weaknesses, goals and what they enjoy to do so I can incorporate it all into a training style that works for them. I work to push my athletes to meet their goals and even surpass them as best we can. A coach should always be checking with their athletes to make sure everything is heading in the direction both coach and athlete want it to go. It is a team effort between coach and athlete, so I strive to be supportive of the athletes’ goals and needs, while also making sure we are realistic with what we are trying to achieve. A coach is there for their athletes, to make sure they meet their goals, and cross any finish lines injury-free.
