I've been coaching Ultra Athletes since 2012 and running Ultra's since 2010. I've completed WS100, TRT100, and 50+ other shorter-distance Ultras. I'm a Strength Trainer and Ultra Coach. I've competed at the highest levels of Alpine skiing in the Downhill, Super-G, and Giant Slalom events at one point being ranked in the top 100 in the world in all three disciplines. I've competed in the US National Championships in 2 different sports (BMX and Alpine Skiing) and placed in the top 15 overall at the Spartan World Championship Ultra distance in 2016.
I believe in teaching my athletes rather than telling them. I personalize every athlete's run schedule to their particular needs, environmental factors, goals, and athletic capabilities. The only dumb questions are the ones that don't get asked. My athletes know they have a judgment-free zone with me. I always look forward to "Why are we doing this?" questions. I firmly believe if I can teach you how to think about a problem in an ultra you won't make mistakes when I'm not there with you on the course at mile 57 when problems arise. Let's face it, problems always come up in even the best laid-out strategy. The ability to think calmly and effectively in the face of adversity is a trained skill just like the long run.
