About Heather

I ran cross country in high school and stayed healthy during my nursing school years training for races in the beautiful Blue Ridge. I now live in Oregon with my son, husband and three dogs where we all enjoy the trails year round, by running, skiing and mountain biking. My first 50k was the SOB in Ashland, OR in 2012 and I have done at least one ultra-distance race every year since. I have a Masters Degree in Nursing and was on our local Nordic National Ski Patrol. I have coached youth athletes in running, skiing and soccer and am now looking forward to working with adults.

Coaching Philosophy

The goal is to positively challenge yourself and reap the mental and physical benefits that running long distances will have on the motivated athlete! My coaching priorities are to help the runner have fun, reduce injury risks, and feel that they have done their best in working towards their goals. I believe training and racing is a path to enhancing one’s life with joy, confidence, and holistic well-being. I believe that an effective coach can help an athlete maintain balance with the rest of life’s moving pieces while guiding them through the hard work, focus and discipline required to realize the deep satisfaction that comes from spending hours running in mountains, forests, deserts, cities and anywhere else their feet and dreams may take them!

I am particularly drawn towards parents who find self-care through running. My journey became especially important after becoming a mom!
