I’ve been running for over fifteen years and have completed tons of races from the mile to a 100k. Along the way, I've made just about every mistake possible from fueling mishaps to under- and over-training to battling injuries. But I'm proof that you can bounce back even stronger.
Besides running and coaching, I'm the timer for my local running club - Taconic Road Runners in Northern Westchester, NY - and I race direct two trail races: Breakneck Point in Beacon, NY and Castle to River in Garrison, NY. I also owned a running store for 5 years and love to talk shoes and gear!
I truly believe that everyone can be a runner! It doesn't matter your age, background, fitness ability, or size, if you set the right goals, plan accordingly, and follow that plan - you can be a runner! And if you've already got a running background, you can smash your goals the same way.
They say that 80% of life is just showing up. Running is the same way. Consistency is key. If you can make running a habit and stick with it, you'll reach your goals.
My belief is that there is a simple and clear formula to running: Plan + Execution = Success. My job as a coach is to ensure you are following a plan that's right for you AND to make sure you stick with it. Most runners who don't achieve their goals either don't have a plan that's right for them OR they aren't following that plan.
