I've ran all distances up to the marathon, and know from experience how important form and nutrition are in order to achieve faster times. I also know from experience you need time to figure them out. You will work on your hydration, fuel, shoes, and clothing as well as figuring out which parts of your running form need a little modifying. Building on these concepts during your training allows you to figure out what's best for you, allowing you to be the most prepared as you can be within your control.
