I’m Alla Shashkina, founder of The Quiet Run in Encinitas, CA. With a background in linguistics and a passion for ultra running—having completed multiple 50Ks, a few 100Ks, and a marathon personal best of 2:58—I focus on integrating breathwork into running. I emphasize psychophysiological training through mindful techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and somatic breathwork. My mission is to help runners discover their unique “language of breath,” enhancing their overall experience, longevity, and joy in the sport. For more information, visit The Quiet Run.
My coaching philosophy emphasizes the vital connection between breath and movement, guiding runners to develop a deeper awareness of their bodies. Through the Quiet Run Method, I combine breathwork, mindful techniques, and cognitive behavioral strategies to enhance physical performance and mental resilience. This holistic approach fosters a supportive environment where runners can explore their unique “language of breath,” promoting longevity and joy in their practice. My goal is to empower each individual to cultivate a sustainable and fulfilling running journey.
