Strength and Conditioning for Endurance Athletes Certification
Bridging the gap between gym focused personal training certifications and the endurance world, this comprehensive coaching certification focuses on strength and conditioning applicable to endurance athletes.
Most endurance sport coaches don’t come into coaching with a strong background in strength training. Therefore, for many coaches, this area is their weak spot… until now!
Developed by physiologist and endurance strength coach, Dominique Stasulli, this certification covers everything that an endurance sports coach needs to know about developing a strength training program, and how to integrate it into a cardiovascular-focused program.
Lastly, until now there has been no comprehensive and science-based strength and conditioning resource focused on endurance athletes. This course fills this critical educational gap.

Program Lead – Dominique (Dee) Stasulli
Dee is an endurance and strength coach [owner of Zeal Endurance Coaching] for competitive amateur and recreational athletes across a range of endurance sport disciplines.
Her master’s degree is in Kinesiology: Sports Conditioning and she’s an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She loves to combine the science of exercise physiology with the art of coaching in the field. She also currently teaches anatomy/physiology, kinesiology, and pathophysiology to pre-healthcare students on the community college level. Personally, she is a former DII collegiate cross-country/track and field athlete and now participates in a variety of sports year-round, but racing trail and multisport events are her favorite.
Course Description
As the first of its kind, the UESCA Endurance Strength and Conditioning Certification is the only S&C certification specifically created for endurance sport coaches. Unlike many personal training or strength and conditioning courses, that focus on fat loss, ‘toning,’ muscle hypertrophy or speed and quickness, this certification is only focused on strength training for endurance athletes.
This course takes a deep dive into all things strength and conditioning as it relates to working with endurance athletes. As noted above, this certification also delves into all systems of the body as it is critical to understand how each system affects others.

Just the Facts
Strength training is a hot topic right now. Therefore, there is a lot of noise in the form of biased points of view, old theories and non-applicable strength training advice being thrown around. As such, this certification educates individuals on how the body functions as it pertains to strength training and moreover, it examines and analyzes the most recent strength training studies.

Comprehensive Content
In order to understand strength and conditioning, one must also understand the body as a whole as no system functions in isolation. Therefore, not only does the certification delve deeply into areas directly specific to strength training, but it also addresses other systems in the body so that the reader understands how strength training adaptations interrelate to other physiological adaptations. In short, this certification will educate the reader on all things that they need to know to be able to program an effective strength training program for an endurance athlete.

A Common Question We Get
In our lead up to the development of this certification, a common question that we got was how will this certification differ from that of a personal trainer certification? Fair question indeed.
For starters, this certification is focused on strength and conditioning for endurance athletes. Therefore, a lot of the programming content is specific to endurance athletes and how to successfully integrate strength training into a cardiovascular program, while still being vigilant about total workload. While there is certainly crossover between this certification and a personal training certification, the main focus of ours is enhancing an endurance athlete’s performance via strength training versus strength training in isolation.
