I am a retired microbiologist who started running at the age of 55. Since then, I have completed 15 marathons, including NYC, MCM and Berlin, along with a few ultramarathons and triathlons. I have also completed, and coached, the multi-day Dopey Challenge of the WDW Marathon Weekend. As a scientist, I base my coaching methods on sound, peer-reviewed scientific studies, not on “what works for me” or the latest running magazine. I have been a coach for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program for the past several years.
I’m a firm believer that training must be personalized. Each trainee is unique, and deserves training based on individual needs and situations. For that reason, I only take on a few trainees per season. I enjoy working with individuals who have little to no experience but want to challenge themselves. I have trained athletes of all ages and abilities to run, run-walk and walk endurance races.
