While practicing as a PT it became quickly apparent that there is a huge gap between getting clients back to running and getting them back to actual training/performing at the level they want. I became a coach to help bridge that gap and guide those dealing with injury (current or chronic) out of the medical system and back into healthy training. I am avid runner and love trail running and racing the marathon. I coach XC at the local high school and manage my own PT practice. In my free time I can be found enjoying the mountains and running with my dog.
Happy runners are healthy runners. My approach to coaching is to make sure my runners feel challenged, but enjoy the process - at the end of the day we all run because we love it, and if training is miserable there is no point. I incorporate strength training and injury prevention/management strategies to educate all my clients on how to self-manage common injuries, and promote self-reflection and mental training strategies for a holistic and individualized approach.
