My background in sport began long before coaching. I competed in Division I soccer and later fell in love with distance running and endurance sport. I've experienced firsthand the transition from team sport to running, the pursuit of ambitious race goals, and the challenge of fitting serious training into a full life. Today, I bring that athlete experience together with my UESCA education and background in leadership to coach runners of different ages, abilities, and goals. I love the science of training, but even more, I love getting to know the person behind the data.
I believe the athlete is a person first and a runner second. Great coaching starts with understanding both. Every athlete brings a different training history, schedule, strengths, stressors, goals, and reasons for running. My job is not simply to prescribe workouts, but to understand the whole athlete and build purposeful training around where they are and where they want to go. My coaching is individualized and evidence-informed, with an emphasis on consistency, appropriate training stress, recovery, strength, communication, and long-term development. I want athletes to understand the "why" behind their training, not just follow instructions. I believe running can develop far more than fitness, and I want to help athletes pursue meaningful goals while learning just how much they are capable of.
