About Max

I’m based in Lincoln, Nebraska, where I work as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in an outpatient orthopedic clinic. I started running consistently about four years ago after signing up for a 10 mile race with PT school classmates. What began as a one time challenge turned into thousands of miles, a 3:10 marathon, 50 mile ultramarathon and now an upcoming 101 mile ultramarathon I also hope to one day qualify for the Boston Marathon!

Outside of running, I enjoy golfing, cooking, watching any and all sports (especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers), and spending time with friends and family.

Coaching Philosophy

I love running, and I love helping people find out they’re capable of more than they think. My goal is to help you chase big goals without turning training into a second full-time job, or collecting a new injury every training block.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and UESCA certified running coach, I bring a practical, evidence based, rehab informed approach to coaching. I do not believe there is one “perfect” running form, one magic workout, or one plan that works for everyone. Your training should fit your goals, experience, body, schedule, and life outside of running.

We’ll build fitness gradually, lift with purpose, practice fueling and recovery, and adjust when life gets busy. Whether you want to finish your first race, run a marathon PR, or spend an unreasonable number of hours in the woods, I’ll help you train with confidence, stay consistent, and enjoy the process.
