About Natalie

I was a competitive runner in high school, dabbled in triathlon, and quickly fell in love with the sport. After suffering a debilitating ankle injury in college that kept me from competing, I became certified as a personal trainer and eventually healed enough to run again. Later on, after realizing I needed more balance in my life, I got certified and started working as a health coach. More recently, because of my interest in and role of coaching middle school athletes, I became certified as a UESCA Running Coach, which has filled in the gaps in my knowledge of running

Coaching Philosophy

My coaching philosophy is to keep training and competing fun, while motivating my athletes to push hard to achieve their goals. I want my athletes to have clear goals and work toward them in a focused, intentional way, but also remember to enjoy the other important aspects of their lives(i.e. friends, family, rest, education, spirituality), as keeping their lives balanced will ultimately lead to a more fulfilled life than athletic goals alone. I try to encourage training with other people as much as possible, as companions can often push and encourage one another to be even better than they could be on their own, as well as lead to lifelong friendships that can provide the support we all need when going through challenges, whether that be in running or life in general!
