About Ella

Through my experience as an outdoor guide I am acutely aware of my passion for supporting individuals as they pursuit big goals. As a UESCA certified Running Coach, I hope to help people train smart and achieve big goals. I have found speed on both the road and the trail, having run the Boston Marathon, and more recently, winning the Grand Traverse Triple Crown (having the fastest combined time for a ski mountaineering race, trail run, and mountain bike race). Perhaps more important than my achievements are my set backs, which have taught me the most about how to properly train.

Coaching Philosophy

I combine empathy and compassion with a scientific approach to help athletes reach their highest potential. Through a customized training plan, I work with athletes to build endurance and strength, which are crucial for crushing long races and athletic endeavors. As a mother myself, I understand the demands of life, and how various obstabcles can impact a person's goals. I work with individuals to set realistic goals and will tailor an athlete's plans to their individual needs.
My educational background is in therapeutic recreation and believe that recreation (which includes training/running) is an essential human need and is intrinsically therapeutic. I look forward to supporting athletes as they maximize their potential through a balanced, holistic, and data-driven approach to training.
